Postgraduate Admission Requirements

Applicants applying to the Postgraduate Diploma in Creative Practice course will need to take note of the following minimum admission requirements:

  • Applicants must have a relevant Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7 or 8) or Advanced Diploma (NQF 7) that includes both a theoretical and practical component relating to Creative Practice.
  • OW Applicants: must have obtained a minimum of 50% in both the theoretical component (Film Theory / Visual  Culture) and practical major of their respective courses.
  • External Applicants: an academic transcript conveying similar subjects and marks will be required.

Note on creative production secondary selection:

    • OW Applicants: Should have taken the subject on level 1 but must not have completed level 2 or level 3 in the subject (i.e – students may not have majored in their secondary choice subject). Students may need to complete  asynchronous online courses to cover basic skill acquisition.
    • External applicants: Should have basic software knowledge of the subject, but should not have specialised in this field. External applicants will be evaluated on a case-by-case scenario, and may need to complete asynchronous online courses to cover basic skill acquisition.
